5 Step Exterior Painting Process
    1. Power Washing
  • House is washed to remove dirt that has built up on surface.
  • Solution of bleach and water is sprayed to clean mildew, as needed.
  • Large chips are swept up.
  • House is allowed to dry before priming/painting.

    2. Scraping, Priming, and Minor Maintenance

  • Loose paint is hand scraped to bare wood.
  • Bare wood is spot primed to seal the wood and give the paint a firm base to adhere to.

    3. Painting

  • Areas not being painted are protected with drop cloths.
  • One full finish coat of paint is applied.
  • Paint is applied by either brushing, rolling, or spraying (spraying is always back-brushed for maximum adhesion).
  • A second finish coat is available upon request or as specified in the contract.

    4. Clean Up

  • Is done daily and upon completion.
  • Large chips are swept.
  • Equipment is stored in central location.
  • Touchups are completed.
  • Extra paint is left for customer.

    5. Inspection

  • Crew does walk around to ensure all contracted areas have been painted.
  • Crew walks around with customer and touchups are noted on a punch list and completed before leaving.
  • All equipment is removed from jobsite.
  • Comment card is left with customer.
5 Step Interior Painting Process
    1. Setup
  • Furniture is moved to the center of the room and covered with plastic.
  • Floors are covered with plastic and/or canvas drop clothes.

    2. Preparation

  • Holes and dings are patched.
  • Surfaces are scuff sanded to smooth and help improve adhesion.
  • Stains receive a seal coat treatment to prevent reoccurrence.
  • All bare and repaired areas are spot primed.

    3. Painting

  • Surfaces are wiped to clean dust from preparation.
  • Contracted areas are painted.
  • Additional coats are available upon request or as specified in the contract.

    4. Cleanup

  • Is done daily and upon completion.
  • Touchups are completed.
  • Drop clothes and trashed are picked up.
  • Furniture is moved back.
  • Extra paint is left for customer.

    5. Inspection

  • Crew inspects work to ensure contracted areas have been completed.
  • Crew walks around with customer and touchups are noted on a punch list and completed before leaving.
  • All equipment is removed from jobsite.
  • Comment card is left with customer.
